Live a unique experience at the Water Museum
The Water Museum offers a unique experience and is one of the preferred things to do in Medellin.
The water as a protagonist of Museo del Agua, is presented in all its stages and environments: from the creation of the universe, water natural sources, and its availability in the world, specially in Colombia. The museum emphasizes the importance of sustainable development, sustainable water; exhibiting three topics: Gaia, or the living planet, Water and civilizations, and water uses and future possible scenarios.
Each of the ten completely interactive rooms of this Water Museum has extensive multimedia material, computer graphics and artistic representations, and are equipped with technology and applications that stimulate senses. As an example, there is a cold breeze as the visitors read about the moorlands, or they play the sound of waves as the guest is in front of the coastal and marine ecosystems.
Among the services offered, there are thematic workshops, lectures of interest, birthday celebrations, science clubs, musical evenings and environmental films.
During the visit, tourist and locals will appreciate concepts such as the origin of the water, its physical, chemical and biological composition, seven of the Colombian biomes, the relationship between civilizations and water, water infrastructure and hydroelectric production, the problem of water pollution and human footprint on water sources.
