Among the many things to do in Medellin, foreigns and locals can visit this amazing museum located in the nature life reserve Piedras Blancas.
At this museum visitors will find an exhibition on topics related to the senses in insects, morphological adaptations that have suffered to become excellent hunters, swimmers or just to get food, and how insects can be people allies and even how they can be food for humans.
A space for contemplation and learning about the diversity of arthropods present in Colombia, with a large variety of living organisms kept in terrariums and a collection of preserved specimens from various ecological zones of Colombia.
The museum was opened in January 2004, with a representative sample of the diversity of insects in Colombia; in that year they received 25,000 visitors. Currently Piedras Blancas stores an important and comprehensive collection of approximately 22,000 specimens of insects.
