One of the best things to do in Medellin on weekends is visiting the El Salado Eco-Park, a beautiful natural reserve in the Municipality of Envigado, 5 km from its downtown.
Visitors can reach the park taking the old road to El Salado or Chingui, the new way. There is also access to the park using the integrated Metro routes, departing from the Envigado station.
Immersed in nature and fresh air, El Salado Park offers a relaxing environment amidst a number of clean water creeks.
This park’s infrastructure was built to stand in harmony with nature. Viewpoints, wooden pedestrian paths, kiosks, sports plaque, skating park, and even parking lots were designed respecting the concept of nature and wildlife.
Canopy, kiosks, walking trails, gazebos and natural pools are some of the Eco-tourism attractions visitors can enjoy at park El Salado.
Inside the El Salado Parque premises, visitors can find a variety of restaurants offering Colombian typical dishes, or they can buy everything needed to cook their own meals directly in the rustic stoves located in the kiosks area.
The park has a 170,000 m2 area, making it one of the biggest ecological reserves in Antioquia. The El Salado Parque hours are: Tuesday to Sunday and holidays from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, when the holiday is Monday, does not open on Tuesday.
