Among the many things to do in Medellin, visitors can enjoy the Cerro El Volador Eco-park (El Volador Hill), an amazing place surrounded by nature, that was first opened in 1992.
On top of the hill there is a museum that holds over 60 pieces and antiquities of historical value.
In the El Volador Eco-park grounds there are some viewpoints, excellent places to take a look at the whole city, as well as a cultural plaza, for artistic and musical exhibitions.
On the very top of the hill there is a police command that helps keeping the safety of the periphery. There is also a literary café, displaying samples of archaeological findings that have been kept in place for visitors to learn more about the history, linked to the indigenous ancestors who once lived in the area.
This Eco-park is an ideal place for outdoor activities such as trail walking, jogging, cycling, flying kites, birdwatching, picnics, camping or just enjoy a unique natural place in Medellin. The Cerro El Volador is known by many tourist and extreme sports funs because it has held a number of hang gliding and paragliding national and international championships.
