Lights Festival in Medellin

From December 3rd to January 8th, Medellin helds the famous “Alumbrados”
The traditional Myths, Legends and Dances parade, held on December 3rd, opens year end´s festivities in Medellin. December holidays, which extend until January 8th, begin that day, with the famous lights exhibition that makes the city become colorful, something that nobody wants to miss. The Medellin’s riverbank, the Avenida La Playa, the Pueblito Paisa, many avenues, parks, streets and neighborhoods compete with their tremendous lighting designs. The traditional “chivas” (folkloric decorated buses) travel through the city spreading the happiness of its passengers, and Medellin whole becomes a river of cultural programming and partying. Christmas is an exceptional time to visit the city.
